Boo

I got my Star Trek magazine yesterday. This month's has three covers you can get: Picard, Data, and Shinzon. I'm really annoyed- I got Picard! I'll have to go and buy one with Shinzon on it when they come out in a few days, dammit.
I'm working on an "Adopt A Star Trek Character" site- Here. There isn't much there right now, but I've only just started. The Shinzon fanlisting is coming along as well.

LONDON, England -- Joe Strummer, lead singer for seminal British punk
band the Clash, has died at the age of 50.
Strummer, who was the band's guitarist, vocalist and songwriter
alongside Mick Jones, died on Sunday at his farmhouse in Somerset,
southwestern England.
The Clash's video director Don Letts told the British Broadcasting
Corporation on Monday that Strummer died of a heart attack.
A statement released by his record label said Strummer "died
peacefully at his home." It added that his wife Lucy, two daughters
and stepdaughter "request privacy at this harrowing time."
He had been touring with his most recent band The Mescaleros until
last month, rounding off a tour in Liverpool.
Hein van der Rey, managing director of Epitaph Records, which had
produced two albums for Strummer's current band, The Mescaleros, said
he learned of the death on Monday morning.
"We do not know the circumstances. It is pretty devastating news," he
told The Associated Press, adding that Strummer had been working on a
third album with The Mescaleros.
Police said his death was not believed to be suspicious and a post-
mortem examination will take place on Tuesday.
A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police told the Press
Association: "We believe police did attend as the death at the
farmhouse in Broomfield near Bridgwater was sudden."
Strummer, born John Mellor in Ankara, Turkey, and the Clash burst
onto the British punk scene in the late 1970s on the heels of fellow
countrymen and punk rockers The Sex Pistols and are considered by
many to be the definitive British punk band.
Often mixing politics with frantic music, the band's hits
included "London Calling," "Rock the Casbah," and "Should I Stay or
Should I Go."
The Clash are scheduled to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of
Fame in Cleveland, Ohio, on March 10, along with AC/DC, the Police,
Elvis Costello and the Attractions and the Righteous Brothers.
Strummer also enjoyed a successful solo career after the Clash broke
up in 1985, dabbling in acting and writing music for films.
U2 frontman Bono said: "The Clash was the greatest rock band. They
wrote the rule book for U2.
"Though I was always too much of a fan to get to know him well, we
were due to meet in January to finish our Mandela song with Dave
Stewart. It's such a shock," he told the Press Association.

Nemesis was even better the second time! AD liked it too, which was good. We were going to see LOTR: TTT today, but it turns out that her parents needed her to be back by 11 am- they are going to Belize tomorrow and they need to pack. So when they get back we'll go see it.

Nemesis today, TTT tomorrow

AD is coming over at around 2:30 today, and then we are going to see Star Trek: Nemesis. While we're there my grandfather is going to take my sister to see LOTR: TTT, which AD and I are going to see tomorrow. She hasn't seen either of them yet, but now she will. Ha. Long live winter break.

WINTER BREAK! JOY! ECSTASY! FREEDOM!!!!!! ...For two weeks.
As I was leaving hell- oops, sorry, I mean school- today, TWS came up and said "I have two words for this place. 'Fuck' and 'You'." :)
Plus AD is spending the night tomorrow, and I'm forcing her to see Nemesis with me. Actually she wants to see it- I succeeded in turning her into a Trekkie a while ago.:)
At lunch today I gave AP a Christmas present, since we were the only two not doing a "Secret Santa" thing, and she gave me something as well. She said a few days ago how she had lost a ring, so I gave her a ring; she gave me a- well, you know in LOTR- the Elvish brooches they are wearing on their cloaks? She gave me a little one of those as a necklace, and a picture of Haldir- and on the back of the picture she had written "Haldir Lives On!" Yes he does!

It's Friday

I was suposed to have a math test today, but we had it yesterday instead, so the hardest part of my day today was getting out of bed. Winter break after today! No more school for two weeks...And this weekend I;m going to see Nemesis again with another friend of mine...Shinzon lives!

Ooooh, it was so great! I can't wait to see it again. (Btw, stop reading if you don't want to know bits from the movie.) Legolas and Gimli had quite a few great moments- and when Legolas swung up on that horse! Everyone in the theater went "Whoa!!!" Or when Aragorn returned to Rohan after falling off the cliff, adn Legolas, who is usually as unemotional as Mr. Spock, says "You're late...You look terrible." Hehehe....I can't wait for the last one now. Also when Gimli and Aragorn are outside the gates, and they need to cross over to the bridge, only Gimli knows he can't make it that far. So he says to Aragorn "Toss me!" Aragorn is like "What?!", probably remembering Gimli's "Nobody tosses a Dwarf!" So Gimli repeats "Toss me!" and as Aragorn nods, Gimli adds "Don't tell the Elf." :) HALDIR SHOULD HAVE LIVED! AARRRGH! HALDIR LIVES, MR. JACKSON! HALDIR LIVES!

LOTR: TTT "spoilers"- stop reading if you don't want to know

Well, I saw LOTR: TTT last night, from 8:00 to 11:15. It was just as good as the first! It began a little quickly- as it had to just dive right t from where it left off, and then the first half hour or so was a little slow, but that didn't matter. It was a lot darker than the first one, though- but they threw in little jokes here and there to make it lighter.
I have to get off now; I'll write more about it later- but for those of you who are wondering if Haldir of Lorien dies, well...go down if you really want to know.

Nemesis was fantastic! I just got back from seeing it. Tom Hardy was amazing as Shinzon! I still think he should have been able to beat the $h!^ out of Picard, but that could never happen.

I'm going to see Nemesis today! Extreme joy, etc, on my part...At the moment, however, I'm waiting for my hair to dry so I can redye it.

Cheapskates

Well, the plans for Nemesis are all screwed. Originally it was going to be me, my mother, and my sister going. Then a friend of mine called and wanted to go with me, only he couldn't find any tickets. So my sister gave him her ticket, which was really nice of her. Then today, someone else- quite probably the only other Trekkie in the entire school, besides me and the other kid- called and wanted to know what "the plans" were. Then after that the first kid called and told me to talk to the second kid about "the plans", since I was the one taking them to the theater. So, the upshot of all this is that I'm now going with one kid I barely know, and the other kid, and both my mother and sister are staying home, as my mother gave the second kid her ticket. Bloody hell. Tomorrow is going to be strange.

Today is the last day of school- for this week- for me. I have an ortho appt. tomorrow. Joy.
Trek was ok. It was one where one of the leads falls in love with someone who has to die, or leave, or disappear, or something, so that lead can fall in love with someone else a few weeks later. It was pretty good.

Think I heard a shot

Today was my last art class. Well, technically there's one more, but next week at 4:35 I'm going to be at the theater watching Nemesis, and to get from the art institute to the theater takes a bit more than five minutes. I'll probably take the session after next of the same class, so that's all right. Six days until it opens.

Liverpool played Charleton this morning...let's see how they did...

What the fuck?!? Liverpool, down by two to Charleton?!?!?! I've never even heard of bloody Charleton. Heskey, off at 37 minutes because of an injury? Dudek not playing well? LIVERPOOL beaten by CHARLETON?!? I knew ths world was screwed. But I didn't realize just how screwed. Come on, reds! You can do it!

Punksify

I got tickets to both Nemesis and LOTR: The Two Towers!!!!!! Nemesis on December 14th, the day after it comes out, and TTT Dec. 18, the day it comes out! I went online at 6:00 as usual, before school, and for some reason went to fandango to see if there was anything interesting playing. There wasn't, but under "Upcoming" or whatever it is...well, as R and E say, viola! ...And yes, that is not mispelled.
Ms. K meant it: today we did a worksheet. In cooking. Whoop. No more cooking I guess.
I had a math quiz and a french quiz today. The math one seemed okay, actually, and so did the french one, but when they are passed back...it won't be pretty. But who cares?!!? Nemesis! TTT! Life is logical.

From what I've seen I hate humanity

Cooking was really weird today. Ms. K had set up a demonstration to show us how to make the bread we were going to make, only when she went to the table the bowl and everything else she had set up wasn't there. For some reason she assumed it was Andre, so she took him outside the room and yelled at him. When they got back Jeron kept saying to her "You took my pen, you took my pen!" She got really mad and yelled "I TOOK YOUR PEN?!? I TOOK YOUR PEN?!?" She took Jeron outside, and while she was out people started laughing. When she got back in she was furious and said that we weren't making coffee cake today,she didn;t see why she should do anything for us after we had been so horrible to her, so we could just sit there and talk to each other for all she cared. Grace and Tara, of course, got up and went to their group's kitchen and started laughing really hard. Ms. K started throwing the trash cans together and putting stuff away, and after a few minutes she took Grace into the hall and yelled at her, presumably for having been "disrespectful". She implied something to the effect that since we only have a week left in cooking, we aren't doing anything for the rest of the time. Interesting...
Other than that, nothing happened today. Once again I have renewed my hatred for the cafeteria (damn, that sounded pompous. Like something you'd hear on a BBC program). I hate walking in and having everyone stare at you. It's like being on display in a museum or something.

One quiz today in english. Nothing hard at all. My dad is back from Wales, finally. 9 more days til Nemesis...

As it happens we didn't have a quiz because she hd a dentist appointment. Ha. Nothing today, but a repeat of Trek: The one where T'Pol-who-is-really-a-human tells about how her grandmother went to Earth in the 1950s.
